Summer is the season of holidays, family gatherings and a change of pace in our daily lives. It is also the time of year when the risk of forest fires is at its highest, and even the smallest actions can make a significant difference.
That is why Bulgaria Mall supports the Executive Forest Agency’s summer information campaign, reminding us how important awareness and responsible behaviour are during the warmer months.
At the end of June, the focus is on everyday habits that we often take for granted – disposing of waste properly, making sure cigarette butts are completely extinguished, never throwing them out of a car window, and following all safety rules when using open fires. A single small act of responsibility can help prevent a major disaster.
In July, attention turns to the forest’s wildlife. This is the season when many wild animals are raising their young, while high temperatures create ideal conditions for fires to spread rapidly. Carelessness can threaten not only the forest itself, but also the wildlife that depends on it.
August reminds us that even familiar summer activities – such as barbecues, preparing homemade preserves and using open fires – require extra caution. Leaving a fire unattended or failing to follow basic safety measures can have serious consequences.
Being responsible does not mean changing our plans entirely. It simply means being more mindful of the environment we all share, as well as the people and animals that depend on it.
