On 4 July 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, visitors to Premium Cigars & Tobacco, located on the ground floor of Bulgaria Mall, will have the opportunity to experience a unique event celebrating craftsmanship, tradition and heritage.
Bulgarian visitors and international guests alike will be able to witness the fascinating art of hand-rolled cigar making through live demonstrations by Lesbia Pineda, a master torcedor from the legendary La Flor de Copán factory in Honduras.
With more than 25 years of professional experience, Lesbia Pineda is among the artisans who have preserved and perfected one of the world’s most respected cigar-making traditions. Invited by Kaliman Caribe, she will demonstrate every stage of the process – from selecting and preparing tobacco leaves to the precise hand-rolling techniques that transform each cigar into a true work of craftsmanship.
The event also pays tribute to the rich heritage of Flor de Copán, a cigar brand deeply rooted in Honduras’ tobacco tradition. Its story began in 1975, when members of Tabacos Hondureños established a cigar factory in Santa Rosa de Copán.
The Copán region has been renowned for tobacco cultivation since the mid-19th century. Its unique combination of warm days, cool nights and dry mountain air creates ideal conditions for producing exceptional tobacco that has become synonymous with the area.
Interestingly, archaeologists discovered what is believed to be one of the oldest cigars in history near today’s tobacco fields and factory grounds – a partially smoked tobacco roll left behind by a Mayan priest approximately 1,500 years ago.
